ABOUT US
Heroes Foundation of America is a Non-Profit organization based upon the conviction that an educated citizen
is essential to a healthy community and economy.
The foundation provides scholarship opportunities to post-secondary/ vocational programs and support services
to GED students and recent graduates who were enrolled in adult education programs in the School District of Palm Beach County and who otherwise would not have the financial means to fulfill their educational goals.
WHAT WE FUND
GED® Students enrolled
in the School District
of PBC GED® programs:
All proceeds directly support and empower GED® students who lack financial resources and personal services to attain a high school equivalency diploma (GED®), Accommodations on The GED ®Test, and scholarships
to Post-Secondary, or Vocational Programs.
John and Sandra Caruso Memorial Scholarship:
This scholarship would honor their life’s work and continue their mission by offering educational opportunities to individuals who face significant financial or personal challenges. By funding the education of those who might otherwise be overlooked, the scholarship will ensure that the Caruso’s values of compassion, perseverance, and lifelong learning will endure for generations to come.
GRANT OPPORTUNITIES
The HEROES Foundation believes that education creates opportunity, enabling individuals to achieve their dreams and transform their lives. The HEROES Foundation Scholarship is a highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional,
Pell-eligible adult education students.
Launched in 2017, the program reflects the Foundation’s commitment to helping adult education students from low-income backgrounds realize their maximum potential. The organization was designed to assist GED students enrolled in the Palm Beach County School District’s adult education programs, as well as recent graduates (within one year of enrollment). Support includes counseling, GED testing fee coverage, and scholarship opportunities to help students achieve their personal and professional goals.
This prestigious scholarship program is grounded in evidence that eliminating financial barriers to college enables high-potential, low-income students to excel academically, graduate, and continue to lead throughout their lives.

OUR PROGRAMS
While a college education can significantly expand career opportunities, obtaining a high school diploma creates a substantial increase in employment potential. According to the American Academy of Educational Services, 60 percent of skilled jobs require candidates to hold at least a high school diploma.
The HEROES Foundation of America provides scholarships, counseling, and assistance with documentation required for GED testing accommodations. It also offers support services that help students complete their GED, graduate, and successfully transition to post-secondary education, vocational training, or employment opportunities.
