Kathy Bonner / Co-Chair

Kathy Bonner was raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.   She graduated high school in Fort Lauderdale and later graduated from Biscayne College, Miami, Florida with a B.A. degree in Public Administration.  Nationally recognized as an expert in governmental employment and training administration, Kathy developed effective local public-private worker programs synthesized from state and federal grants for over 25 years under 3 separate employment and training laws.   She also chaired the initial Palm Beach County, Florida One Cent Sales Tax Hiring Initiative on behalf of the County Administrator.  Kathy‘s prior affiliations include Workforce Development Boards in Brevard, Broward and Palm Beach Counties and in the State of Georgia.   

 

Grants:
•    W.I.O.A. Adult and Dislocated Worker Grants, totaling over $2 million in distributed funds
•    Department of Labor National Emergency Grants for Hurricanes Irma and Maria displaced workers for    $350,000 in distributed funds
•    Career Source Florida Community Based Sector Strategy for Trades Training totaling $300,000 in funding
•    Palm Beach County Dislocated Workers Entering the Healthcare Field Grants, totaling over $600,000 in distributed funds

ABOUT US

Heroes Foundation of America is a Non-Profit organization based upon the conviction that an educated citizen is essential to a healthy community and economy. 
The foundation provides scholarship opportunities to post-secondary/ vocational programs and support services to GED students and recent graduates who were enrolled in adult education programs in the School District of Palm Beach County and who otherwise would not have the financial means to fulfill their educational goals.
