Board of Directors

David Lumbert

EDUCATION

I started my educational journey through Mass Rehabilitation Center, a Massachusetts state-run organization.  I went there after falling off a ladder and crushing my L4 and L5 vertebrae in my spine.  This meant I could not continue working in construction.  They set me up with an advisor who instituted personality and educational testing and then suggested I go back to school and they would help me through the re-education process. Through their efforts I received grants to carry me through a two-year Associate of Science degree with High Honors.  I was lucky to have my future father-in-law mentor me through this process.   From him I learned the importance of giving back.  I started by tutoring at the Math Lab.

I then transferred to FAU where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and continued to give back, tutoring Calculus to students who were unable to grasp the content. I also became a board member for the Honors College Board of Directors as the student representative.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER

I have been in banking since I graduated from FAU.  My responsibilities have involved many acquisitions and mergers in the banking world.  I am currently a Vice President / Manager / Business Development Officer with Flagler Bank.  My positions in banking always include community involvement.  I have sat on the Business Development Board, the Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce, the City of Boynton Beach Flood Mitigation Task Force, the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Club and a Vice President of my HOA Board.  I am now a Board Member and Treasurer of the Lantana Chamber of Commerce, where I was the Treasurer, Board Member and Economic Development Co-Chair from 2004 to 2011.  I Co-Chaired the Relay for Life in Lantana in 2008 and have been involved in the Leukemia Lymphoma Society of Palm Beach County for many years.
